Since working with Acosta, I have been fortunate to have been given the opportunity to hone and develop my skills. I started as a Retail Advisor in a field sales role, giving me the grounding within the grocery sector. I progressed into my current role, which has given me a more diverse range of skills and knowledge. No two days are ever the same.
Whether I am out coaching and guiding on a development day, working with my colleagues on developmental projects or having client meetings, I am always learning and this is something I thrive on.
I really enjoy working for a company that has such an inclusive environment and the feel of a family, which really helps me to keep a positive outlook. The people I work with are so important to the success of our business and I see a fun, hard working environment that enables progression and improvement in our offerings to clients.
Working at Acosta is fantastic as we have a team of highly skilled and experienced people who each bring a wealth of knowledge. In particular, the work environment is incredibly collaborative whilst being dynamic and fast paced. I feel that this helps get the best out of myself and the team.
As a Category Manager I’m part of the team delivering category management for our clients. This means I need to be on the leading edge of the industry to anticipate the upcoming trends of consumers, enabling Acosta to put our clients right at the centre of them.
It’s the diversity of work that I get in the Category Team that I enjoy the most as it gives variation to each day and ensures there is always something to be involved in!
I’ve been working with Acosta for two years, having previously worked for Sainsbury’s. It has been a great change in career path for me and I have not looked back since.
I enjoy visiting different retailers each day as everyone is different and present an individual challenge. This is what drives me to get a positive outcome in each store I visit. I definitely stay on my toes, keeping up to date with all aspects of each retailers and building relationships across all levels of store colleagues on a daily basis.
Although my role is primarily on my own, it is great to have a friendly team around you who bounce ideas around and help each other to succeed. This team spirit means I am not in the field by myself, but connected with a nationwide network of colleagues.
Having worked in a number of marketing roles within FMCG in the past, I can safely say that my role here at Acosta has been the most fun and diverse. My role is truly omnichannel, which means I need to have a broad understanding of all retail and consumer goods on the market. This keeps me on my toes as I have to stay up to date with all the latest marketing techniques as well as keeping an eye on the brands making a splash out there in the market place!
On any day I could be preparing presentations for top retailers, taking on board their challenges, or producing a customer activation plan to meet the needs of consumers in the convenience sector.
The team I work with are ultimately what makes it so much fun. We learn a lot from each other and spread this knowledge through our team meetings and workshops. When the pressure is on, we all pull together and this is the best bit of my role!
Working at Acosta is equally exciting as it is fast paced. The business is growing and evolving constantly, so it is a great place to be at the start of my career. The team work as one to achieve results – we support one another, share each others knowledge and encourage new ideas from everyone.
I operate as the main contact for account queries and liaise with clients to ensure we have a solution in place for any queries they have. In addition to my day-to-day responsibilities, I have the opportunity to be involved in seeking new sales opportunities and generation of leads to increase the distribution for our clients’ products.
The genuine team support is what makes Acosta a great place to work. I feel valued as a team member and believe that I can make a real difference to not only our business but our clients’.
